About Stephenie Fleegle, MD

Dr. Stephenie R. Fleegle is a board-certified family physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine, specializing in memory care for older adults. With over a decade of experience in geriatric medicine, Dr. Fleegle is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients and families navigating memory loss, dementia, and related cognitive challenges. 

Dr. Fleegle completed her fellowship in Geriatrics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and has served as a clinician and consultant in leading healthcare organizations, including Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii. She has extensive experience working with interdisciplinary teams to manage complex medical and cognitive needs, ensuring holistic and personalized care for each patient.  Some special interests include nutrition, exercise, prognostication, and addressing polypharmacy. 

As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii’s Geriatrics Fellowship Program, Dr. Fleegle has contributed to the education of future geriatricians and has presented on topics such as dementia care, capacity, and strategies for maintaining cognitive health. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized with honors such as the Castle Connolly Top Doctors award in Geriatrics. 

Dr. Fleegle is passionate about empowering patients and their families, offering guidance and support throughout the memory care journey. She believes in a collaborative approach that respects each individual’s dignity and quality of life. 

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Fleegle enjoys spending time with her family, being near the water, cooking, running and cycling, and volunteering in her community.
